Riverhead High School Open House - September 11, 2014
(September 11, 2014) Riverhead High School held its annual Open House on Thursday. The evening began in the school's new cafeteria, where parents picked up their schedule for the evening from the high school guidance counselors and administrators. Also in the cafeteria were student representatives from various clubs at the high school, who answered questions and signed up students for the 2014-15 school year.
Once the parents and guardians had their child's school schedule, they filed into the auditorium where RHS Principal Charles Regan greeted them and thanked them for coming to meet their child's teachers and administrators. |
Dr. Regan also pointed out the access location of the parent portal and student portal on the district website (right below the slider) and encouraged those in attendance to look for a letter in the mail which explains how to access grades as well as attendance information.
Then it was off to their child's first class to meet the teachers. With the help of the NJROTC cadets who acted as guides, they made it to their first period class before the bell rang. Teachers, once again, greeted their students' parents and guardians and encouraged them to keep in contact with them throughout the year via email, phone calls or by accessing their websites for additional information concerning their classes. |
